The following is a calendar that pulls from several Meetup groups around town. Many meet in coworking spaces, others meet in restaurants, libraries, or other meeting places. In addition to these events you can also find pointers to tech events at:
ABQ Webgeeks – a group of web developers who meet somewhere with food and drink and give excellent presentations on all aspects of the web.
July 16 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm MDT
We’re going to go over everything you need to do in blender in order create a full character from scratch, animate them, and get them into a game. That’s a lot to cover, so we won’t be going super in-depth into any of these subjects; just enough to give everyone a basic idea of how 3D asset creation works from start to finish. If you want to participate, all you need is a computer that can run blender (should be any laptop, not a tablet) and a mouse (a mouse IS REQUIRED). This workshop is going to assume no prior knowledge or skills of any kind, so I encourage everyone to participate, ESPECIALLY programmers since this is a good opportunity to learn the other half of game development.
This is part of a monthly event featuring workshops, group events, and work alongs! We run these events on the third Tuesday of every month.
